In this month’s issue of Interview magazine, Stephanie Seymour, an avid Lanvin collector, sat down with the head designer of the label for a casual, yet intimate chat. One of the strengths of an interview such as this one is that the person conducting the interview has a personal connection to both the interviewee and the subject.
Over lunch in NYC, Elbaz and Seymour discussed the misconception that people in the fashion industry are fake, the relevance of fashion in the face of political strife, how it is sometimes more difficult to talk about fashion than to create designs, and much, much more.
The best part of the feature is we get to see more than one side of Stephanie’s love for Lanvin. Not only does she conduct a captivating interview we couldn’t stop reading, but she also modeled for the images taken by one of our favorite photographers, Glen Luchford!

Oddly this was the first interview I read when the issue came in the mail yesterday and was definitely drawn in by the great photography on this piece. There was something about the people in the backdrops looking confused, distracted, curious and enamored that really made the images thick with substance. Stephanie shined and each photo was beautiful on its own (the shot of her in the sink is suh-weeet!!)

There is something that is so romantic and beautiful about Glen’s work. It always has this feeling of a soft glow. Great story.
