THE THING I AM MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO IN 2010 IS _________________ .
This winter season we are happy to see the heartwarming campaign concept of a cozy, romantic holiday season complete with snowfall and the gifts of our dreams. Carter Smith’s holiday campaign for Tiffany & Co. gives us a spectacular visual of everything we dreamed of with the perfect finishing touch of narrative suspense. Now we can dream about our very own miracle on 57th Street!
Olga Sherer walks the walk. She is in fact such a pro, that if we were to attempt strutting down the catwalk, we would go to Olga for advice. She exudes an air of sultry, chic style and confidence for every show she walks. Do you prefer Olga au naturel or do you like her look for the recent Hussein Chalayn and Dolce & Gabbana shows?
It looks like we may have stumped our audience this week! The quiz may have been a challenge but hopefully we got you thinking about how a photographer’s unique style translates from one subject to another. Take a look at the answers below and let us know what you think of the results!
A. Sølve Sundsbø
B. Carter Smith
C. Ellen von Unwerth
D. Steven Meisel
With the winter holidays just around the corner, we began wondering what our favorite fashion photographers will be shooting while they’re out of the studio and away from editorial deadlines. Surely the landscape, whether wintry or tropical, familiar or foreign, will serve as a great inspiration.
We’ve searched the Art + Commerce Image Archive and have found some impressive and surprising landscape imagery by photographers best known for their fashion and celebrity editorial work. Can you figure out which of the below photographers captured each landscape?
Every so often we meet a girl who embraces the model lifestyle as more than just a job, and enjoys every hectic minute of it. We instantly figured this out after we met Meghan Collison, and it was such a pleasure to see someone so happy with her profession. The British Columbia native is bright, friendly, and welcoming, and on top of it all has a very distinct look and personality. We have been following the young lady for some time now — from her early Vogue Italia covers to her runway bookings, and also as the face of a limited-edition jigsaw puzzle by Steven Meisel.
Maybe it’s because we love to track trends from one season to the next, or maybe it’s because we never seem to get enough of fashion week pandemonium, but we love Craig McDean’s show season-inspired editorial in the most recent issue of W magazine. From the stellar model line-up to the delicate creams and pinks of the wardrobe, we are definitely saving this spread as an industry reference and as personal style inspiration for Spring 2010.
