PRODn is so excited! We are all about to embark on our holiday journeys - if the snow doesn’t ground our planes! We are looking forward to some time off, dim light, hot cocoa, and stellar presents from our loved ones. Another part of our plan is to stock up on February glossies and pour over the newest fashion campaigns. Some of us plan to do this while sitting at the beach, and some of us plan to curl up by the fireplace in our warm fuzzy PJ’s, and cozy slippers. We just had a glimpse of a campaign we worked on and we must say, we cannot wait to see the advertisement in its complete editorial glory. Prada, shot by Steven Meisel. We LOVE!

Most fashion photography buffs know Glen Luchford for his beautiful, cinematic imagery and lighting. His photos have a distinct aesthetic that is often recognized and linked back to the photographer.
Glen Luchford is a visual communicator, but we have recently learned he has offered more than just photographs to his fans. Fortunately for his devotees he is (on occasion) known to share his technique in cyberspace.
Two years ago in on an online photo forum, a reader posted an inquiry asking how the photographer achieved the lighting in a shoot for the fashion publication Another Magazine. The post drew a month’s worth of back-and-forth debates regarding exactly how the shots were achieved.
Luckily for those involved in the online discussion, Glen personally chimed into the cyber debate and posted a detailed explanation of how he achieved his final image. To make things more interesting, the lesson was not taken for granted, it was actually put into play, and the reader returned with his homework at hand. Just take a look at the final result! What do you think?

Despite today’s 60 degree weather (global warming anyone?), the holiday spirit is definitely upon us. From the Christmas lights on 5th Avenue to the ice skating rink at Rockefeller Center, New York has plenty to offer those seeking holiday cheer.
One thing we always love during this time of year (aside from free canapes + champagne at office parties) is the annual performance of Tchaikovsky/Balanchine’s Nutcracker Ballet. A breathtaking production that helps put aside troubles of working weeks past, and hypnotizes the audience with its gentle music and graceful silhouettes.
These elements of the theater often act as inspiration to photographers as well. Just take a look at these enchanting images of IMG’s Elena S captured by Sølve Sundsbø. These pictures certainly make us want to catch the next 1 train to Lincoln Center!

Guess who’s birthday it is? That’s right, Jennifer Connelly. She is 38th to be exact. Most of us first met Jennifer in the movie Labyrinth, where she played alongside David Bowie, which not a lot of actors can say for themselves. There is just something about her, it could be her eyebrows, it could be her super-cool husband, either way we adore her.
Here’s to you Jennifer, Happy Birthday!!

At Work is the title of Annie Leibovitz’s most recent book release. And interestingly enough, the author is also the subject at hand.
Through this lens, we get a sense of the working process of the legendary photographer. And so the audience gets an idea of the operation, we decided to include a video of Ms. Leibovitz’s shoot. Take a look at the master at work!
If this clip isn’t enough, you will have a chance to hear Leibovitz speak tomorrow at the Union Square Barnes & Noble Bookstore at 7pm. We sure hope they’ve rented enough chairs for this event!!

We love a great model agency blog - and IMG is no exception. They now give us up-to-date status reports on those girls we all adore, and for that we heart them.
ModelLive has been a smash hit and a thoroughly entertaining addition to our long list of fave websites, which is why we’re super excited for IMG’s newest venture.

Valeria of Women has been working really hard, you can see she has her movements down pat.
In addition to her perfect poses, notice any difference in her portrait? That’s right… The absence of any discernable eyebrow! We’re into it, in that Whoopi Goldberg, kind of awesome way.

Erin Wasson is the latest addition to Pop Culture’s lexicon, as she is destined to become a household name. Starting as a model and quickly becoming Manhattan’s downtown “it” girl, Erin (and her signature mole) have worked her way into many branches of fashion outlets, all of which which are sure to help her maintain her status, stability and all around cool-cred. Wasson’s resume highlights include:
- A Lucrative Maybelline Contract (You can’t take a New York cab without seeing her on Taxi TV)
- Fashion Show styling for friend and CFDA award winner Alexander Wang
- Being selected as the face of Karl Lagerfeld’s signature collection for H&M
- Jewelry design… for David Yurman no less!
- Modeling (“Don’t bite the hand that feeds you!” Wasson wisely advises her peers)
PRODn loves a model who can wear many hats… figuratively and literally.
