Some think sex sells, we think it’s Claudia. On the cover of the June 2008 issue of German Vogue (shot by Mario Testino) the 38-year-old uber-icon-super-model is clad in no more than a kitten mask, some (leder) hosiery and three big red letters “S E X”. Turning a coy, over-the-shoulder pose, veiled in light pink type is Spanish Vogue’s take on this three-letter word. This cover, photographed by Neco, makes summer “MUY SEXY”. Kudos to Claudia for the double win this summer, but it’s really just another day for the woman who’s graced over 500 magazine covers throughout her epic career. We dug through the archives and pulled some of our favorite, classic Claudia covers.
We like watching a model blossom. Meeting Olga Scherer (1 Model Management) for the first time back in October 2006 she “had us at hello”. Two years later, in March of 2008, we were even more enamored by the Russian beauty with her signature fiery hair. Then yesterday, on a hot July afternoon, following her run of couture shows (including Jean Paul Gaultier, Valentino, and Christian Lacroix to name a few), Olga confirmed what we knew all along - she’s red hot!
We’ve always wanted that job naming the Crayola crayon colors (Atomic Tangerine, Purple Mountain’s Majesty, Outer Space, or Timberwolf…a few of our favorites). The name says a lot about the crayon, and we’d want to name it something that evoked softness, versatility, with a quiet boldness while maintaining classic traits – We would name this crayon Pernille. While our futures as “crayon-namers” are decidedly bleak, our instinct about IMG’s Danish delight Pernille is not – the 16 year old rising star is someone to look out for. Aside from sharing devastating looks and being at the top of their game, the IMG supermodels pictured below have also all been the recent subjects of photographer, Sebastian Faena.
The young, Argentinean native photographed the girls for recent editorials for both POP and V Magazine. Although POP won’t be available for a few more weeks, look out for the new issue of V on newsstands tomorrow.
Supreme Model Management’s ever growing roster of girls are one part vixen, one part classic beauty, and possess “of the minute” appeal. Their Swedish import Ida arrived in New York two days ago and in the words of the agency’s musical namesakes, Ida will soon be singing “So come on hurry, come on and see about me (Come see about me)…”
While some were taking a much needed rest after the men’s shows, and others recovering from jet lag, today at PRODn it was indeed a boys club. Take a look at the guys from Public Image and DNA that stopped by.
